Birth and Early Life
Vijay Sankeshwar was born in a simple family in Karnataka. The family was not very wealthy, and his father owned a small printing press. The First Big Decision
Vijay went against his parents’ wishes and decided to join the logistics business. His family tried to convince him many times, but Vijay chose to follow his dream. Once he decided, he was determined to make it happen. This determination gave him the courage to think differently and move forward.

Starting with One Truck
In 1976, Vijay borrowed some money from an acquaintance and bought his first truck. This truck was the first step toward his dream. At that time, transport work was very unorganized, there was no technology, and it was hard to manage drivers and customers. Vijay worked day and night, facing dust, heat, rain, and hunger, but never gave up.
साल 1976 में विजय ने किसी जानकार से पैसे उधार लिए और पहला ट्रक खरीदा। यही ट्रक उनके सपनों की पहली सीढ़ी बना। उस समय ट्रांसपोर्ट का काम बहुत असंगठित था, न तकनीक थी और न ही मैनेजमेंट आसान था। विजय ने दिन-रात मेहनत की, धूल, धूप, बारिश और कभी-कभी भूख तक झेली लेकिन हार नहीं मानी।
Initial Struggles
Vijay faced many problems in the beginning. He had less money and little experience. But every problem made him stronger. He turned challenges into learning opportunities and kept improving. He personally took care of truck maintenance, customer service, and employee needs.

Journey of Growth
Slowly, Vijay’s hard work started giving results. By 1994, he had 150 trucks. He renamed his company to VRL and expanded services to new routes, even outside South India. He always focused on quality, which made customers trust him. In 1996, he also started passenger bus services.
धीरे-धीरे विजय की मेहनत रंग लाई। 1994 तक उनके पास 150 ट्रक हो गए। उन्होंने कंपनी का नाम बदलकर VRL रखा और नए रूट्स पर सेवाएं शुरू कीं। उन्होंने हमेशा गुणवत्ता पर ध्यान दिया, जिससे ग्राहक उनकी सेवा पसंद करने लगे। 1996 में उन्होंने बस सेवा भी शुरू की।
Company’s Success
After 2000, VRL became known all over India. The number of trucks kept increasing, and today the company owns around 6000 vehicles. They adopted technology, automation, and modern training for employees. Because of these efforts, VRL was listed in the Limca Book of Records and now employs over 20,000 people.

Difficult Times and Positive Attitude
Vijay faced financial problems many times, but he never gave up. Managing competition, technology upgrades, and employees was not easy, but Vijay stayed positive.
